Across Turtle Island there is a rise of white supremacist right-wing and fascist groups attacking drag queen story hours, queers in the schools, trans and queer young people, reproductive rights, and Black, Indigenous and racialized people.  This session starts with abolition as a radical project of anti-racist social transformation that abolishes carceral injustice and builds real community safety. It moves onto focus on how abolition helps us in the struggles against fascism we are currently engaged in. Fascism is an intense nationalist form of racism that is anti-poor and anti-working class and is combined with carceral-related injustice. Abolition and anti-fascism work together. People on the panel are activists, organizers, and writers with knowledge about organizing against anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism and Colonialism; against trans oppression, disability oppression and against poverty; and in organizing against fascism and the right-wing.
