Join us for a panel discussion organized by CSSDP Ryerson to explore the historical and present relationship between police and Queer people as an institution, the policing of Queer people and bodies that occurs in our everyday lives, as well as the ways in which we can continue to resist these institutions and ideologies.
🌟 Specifically, we hope to facilitate a discussion of the Ryerson campus and its geographic situation in Toronto’s downtown core where historic bathhouse raids occurred only decades ago. As well, we hope to explore intersections of how police/policing impacts Queer people as it relates to colonialism, anti-Indigenous racism, anti-Black racism, transphobia, patriarchy and criminalization
