Gary Kinsman is a queer, social justice and anti-capitalist activist, and has done scholarly work around these issues. Kinsman has been involved with the radical and revolutionary left and became involved in the Gay Liberation Movement in the mid-1970s, was an executive on the board of the Gay Alliance Toward Equality and was involved in the massive resistance to the bathhouse raids in Toronto, among other activist actions. Kinsman separates out the difference between formal legal rights and on-the-ground material social changes for the most vulnerable. Interview conducted on 16 October 2011 by Dr. Nick Mulé.
